Flying carbon neutral: it’s a little action that has a big impact on our future planet.

We know that you want to hand on a healthy and stable planet to future generations. People are coming together to build this future, Qantas are doing their bit too.

Qantas has been offsetting carbon pollution for more than a decade – now they have the biggest airline offset program in the world.

Qantas’ Fly Carbon Neutral program is not-for-profit, so when you tick-the-box to offset, you can rest assured your money is going toward government accredited projects making a real difference.

How does your action add up?

  • A Qantas customer offsets a flight every 59 seconds.
  • Since Qantas started offsetting a decade ago, more than 3 million tonnes of carbon pollution has been taken out of our skies through their investment in carbon offset projects.
  • This is the equivalent of 1.1 million cars off the road – or all of the cars in South Australia.

Where does your money go?

Qantas invests in more than 40 accredited carbon offset projects, at home and around the world. With their customers’ help:

  • 7,000 hectares of native Tasmanian forest is still standing and protected into the future;
  • 812 wind turbines are providing clean, renewable energy to remote communities in Southern India;
  • 50,000 years of knowledge is being used by Indigenous rangers to prevent wildfires in the North Kimberley.
