Climates is a supportive network with a common vision: empowering people in the Australia-Pacific region to address our climate challenges together.
This page provides general information about climate change and an overview of the programs we operate in Kiribati.
We believe in a compassionate Australia-Pacific region, who in times of crisis ask “how can we help you, mate?”
We acknowledge that climate change is already having a large impact on Kiribati’s communities and ecosystems. Many of the challenges are unprecedented, and so there may be uncertainty about how to respond.
We’re in this together. Climates seeks to connect and empower individuals across the region to collaborate and play an important role in our collective response.
Remote Mentoring Program
Engaging experts to support organisations who seek finance for climate resilience and disaster risk reduction projects. Our Expert Mentors support our in-country partners right through the processes of project design and grant application.
This program will be expanded to include Kiribati in late 2016. This service does not cost the in-country partner. Read more.

Pacific Engagement Program
Ongoing consultation with communities and organisations across the region, to inform Climates’ strategy for addressing the climate and disaster risk reduction challenges they face.
This program will be expanded to service Kiribati twice per year from mid 2016, and includes Climates’ engagement with in-country partners.
